In our efforts to keep our vehicles clean and pristine, we often overlook the environmental consequences of traditional car washing and detailing methods. Runoff from car washing can carry pollutants such as soap, grease, oil, and chemicals into storm drains, ultimately contaminating local groundwater and waterways. However, by adopting eco-friendly practices, we can minimize this impact and contribute to a healthier environment.

Water-Efficient Methods:
Choosing a waterless or rinseless style technique for exterior detailing whenever possible. Waterless or rinseless washing products require minimal water usage and can effectively clean your vehicle without the need for excessing water waste in the form of multiple rinsing.
Our Process: For our initial exterior detailing process, we use a high-pressure, low-flow power washer paired with biodegradable soaps but once our customer transitions into our maintenance plan and further washes are completed on a regular monthly basis - we switch to a rinseless wash to reduce our impact on groundwater and use even safer products!
When using a more traditional method such as hose & bucket washing, being more mindful of water consumption is key! Always use a shut-off nozzle on the hose to conserve water and avoid unnecessary runoff.
Our Process: We use a high-quality electric power washer that allows us to restrict or minimize the flow and volume of water and therefore monitor the amount of water running off the vehicle and into the ground. Furthermore, we also operate using zero gas/diesel-fueled equipment to ensure there are no opportunities for spillage of toxic chemicals and reduce our emissions while operating in our beautiful community! We use a propane generator to fuel our equipment and when available ask clients to use their home electricity to power some equipment with their approval.
Biodegradable Products:
Select eco-friendly and biodegradable car washing soaps and detergents. These products are formulated to break down harmlessly in the environment, reducing the risk of water contamination.
Our Process: All products we use are PH-balanced or neutral AND biodegradable to ensure they are not toxic to the vehicle or environment. Being mindful of what we use to clean cars not only keeps your vehicle in great shape and preserves the surfaces from harmful chemicals it also keeps us mindful of what we introduce to the environment that could cause long-term effects.
Avoid using household cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can contain ingredients that are harmful to aquatic life or groundwater quality.
Car cleaning surfaces:
Detailing vehicles on more permeable surfaces is optimal, such as gravel or grass instead of concrete or asphalt. Permeable surfaces allow water to infiltrate the ground, reducing runoff and preventing pollutants from entering any storm drains.
If washing a vehicle on the pavement is unavoidable, consider redirecting runoff to an area with vegetation or a designated infiltration area to filter any pollutants before they reach groundwater sources.
